Incident Summary
At approximately 14:00 on 05 August 2026, information was received regarding a vehicle that had been circulated as stolen in connection with a Boksburg case dating back to August 2025. The vehicle was reported to be travelling along Lynnwood Road towards Brooklyn Road.
CSI Security units R1, R3, T3, and T11 immediately commenced a coordinated search for the vehicle. A short while later, the vehicle was positively identified at the corner of Justice Mahomed Drive and Rupert Street, where it was safely intercepted and brought to a stop without incident.
The incident was reported to Brooklyn SAPS, who confirmed that the vehicle was still actively listed as stolen. While awaiting the arrival of SAPS members, Interactive Security and Proshield Security assisted with securing the scene and ensuring public safety.
Upon the arrival of SAPS, both the driver and the recovered vehicle were taken to Brooklyn Police Station. The investigating officer was contacted, and all the necessary procedures were completed to have the vehicle booked into the appropriate SAP13 Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) for further processing and investigation. The driver will be handed over to the investigating officer for further legal proceedings.
